So… I looked at the Tyrell family tree on HBO’s site.
Willas and Garlan are included in the one for season 1 but not for season 2 and 3. So I’ll assume they’re going to pretend they don’t exist?!
And yeah, you can argue they didn’t want to waste time having to introduce MORE characters but y’know, consistency would be nice…
Also, this makes Loras the heir to Highgarden.
If we overlook this issue of whether Loras is/will be a part of Joffrey’s Kingsguard briefly…. If Loras was the heir to Highgarden, where is the logic behind him being Commander of Renly’s Kingsguard last season? That would leave Mace Tyrell with no heir, aside from Margaery, who was married to Renly at the time. Wouldn’t that kind of be a really big problem?
And okay, so if Loras doesn’t join Joffrey’s KG, then yay, Highgarden has a male heir… And that has taken away a lot of Loras’s personality, imo.
But if he DOES join Joffrey’s KG now, Highgarden is left heirless again…
