-hugs-
it’s like I don’t even care if they leave, I literally want them to ‘cause I don’t want my blog’s name on the blogs of people who don’t care or don’t see a difference between consensual sex and rape
like even in prison you get extra fucked up by everyone else if you were a rapist. and yet I’m being told it’s totally not a big deal to exploit rape for entertainment purposes (and make no mistake that is what happened, because in the book Dany WAS NEVER RAPED OR ABUSED GO BACK AND REREAD/REWATCH IF YOU DON’T BELIEVE ME).
I don’t think you understand how much rape being used again and again in shows horrifies me (and other women) because we’re the ones scared just to go jogging in our own neighborhoods and we’re the ones terrified every time we have to walk in a parking lot alone at night. We’re the ones who have to remember the things that have either been done to us first hand or the things we’ve heard about happening to our friends/mothers/sisters/etc and described to us in detail when we see that shit explicitly shown on tv and movies. So when it’s shoved in for no reason other than entertainment when it wasn’t there in the first place YES IT MATTERS. And I’m sorry but if you haven’t been raped or you have never walked to your car at night and or been out alone jogging or just running errands or harassed on the street and scared somewhere in the back of your mind you don’t get to tell me the difference is slight or that it’s okay if entertainment uses these things as plot devices over and over and over again until we see it so often that questioning it gets dismissed this way. You literally have NO IDEA how much the lives you touch have been affected by rape not just directly but also through all the other people involved. They say it’s one in three women who have been raped or molested but I’m telling you now, I literally don’t know one woman (with whom I’m comfortable enough to talk about this topic with openly) (which isn’t like five women, it’s dozens) who hasn’t confessed to being the survivor of one or both.
also thank you. as always I love you
