You thought you would surprise him – you had a work trip that sent you right by the hotel he was staying at while doing press from his newest movie. You two have been apart for months now, longer than you have ever been before, and you were desperate to seem him. You weren’t used to being on your own for so long, and you just missed his presence. Apparently the paparazzi missed him too, as they lurked outside the hotel. You take a look out the glass doors of the hotel, peering at the world outside when you hear a sudden,
“Well, hello beautiful!”
You turn around quickly to see him walking down the stairs with a quizzical look on his face, “You know, from first glance I would swear you’re my girlfriend, but I’m pretty sure she’s supposed to back home doing work…” He face breaks out into a grin as he opens his arms for you to run into him.
“I’m missed you so much,” you mumble into his yellow scarf, inhaling his scent of pine and musk.
“And I’ve missed you more than you can even imagine,” he says gently brushing hair behind your ear. He steps back, studies your face quietly for a moment with a soft smile on his lips, before he asks, “Is everything okay?”
Taken aback from his question, you trip on your words before you can make out, “Oh, yeah, of course! Why wouldn’t things be okay?”
“You can tell me anything and everything; I thought we built this relationship on the idea we would be one hundred percent honest with one another?” He says, looking into your eyes. It’s as if he could look right through you and just understand, without a single word being said.“I…I’ve just missed you so much,” you choke out, trying not to let the tears come pouring out.
His arms quickly surround you once more as he kisses the top of your head, “And now we’re together again – I’m never going away for this long without bringing you with me from now on, okay? I love you!”
He gently strokes your hair and doesn’t break the hug, and as he repeats the words “I love you” like a chant, you can let yourself melt into him, and enjoy this moment with him.
